Today I stopped reading a book at the 31% mark on my Kindle. I wasnβt enjoying it. If Iβm over 1/3 of the way through and itβs not hitting, I need to move on. Iβve always felt compelled to finish a book Iβve started but itβs my time: I get to choose how to use it. Give yourself permission to stop reading a book you arenβt enjoying.

I used to feel so guilty before for not finishing a book but I realized my time is more important and if i donβt like there is no need to force my self. Is like eating smth you donβt like eating it.

Iβm definitely gonna take this advice. Especially with books. I too feel I should finish it even if itβs not clicking. Always like, what if it picks up in the new chapter? Iβve already read about halfβ¦ but our time matters.

Honestly biggest improvement in reading enjoyment is when I stopped trying to just grind my way thru boring books (I'm a completionist maxi). I can maybe think of only 1 or 2 out of the 100s where I went "huh, glad I stayed with that one to the end"
