People in your 30s: how is it? What is different (better/worse) than your 20s?

You start to understand the preciousness of time. Hangovers are worse.

Control over emotions/urges goes way up. Not just chasing the opposite sex for much of life. Injury risk ⬆️ Two people have said this, bit I’ll reiterate - hangovers are much worse. Friends with kids are harder to interact with, until you have your own.

Better soak it up before you hit your 40s. It’s almost all over at that point…

Children help you see things again and in a different light. Physical aging becomes noticeable (on top of hangovers). Friendship changes how it manifests. Death of loves ones becomes more real, adding perspective to life.

- creaky knees - more tired for no reason - way more chill and not obsessing over irrelevant bs unless it’s super important stuff like your husband not pushing in the drawers fully - actually have to put in effort to maintain social life - don’t care what people think - changes to sleep patterns

My 30s are coming to a close in the next few months and I can unequivocally tell you it was the best decade of my life so far. I had kids in my 20s but they became little people in my 30s and absolutely changed my perspective. Work solidified and I’m excited to spend my 40s amplifying that. 30s we’re better.

i can't emphasize enough how different it feels for me. i'm more confident in my abilities, my strengths, and paths to common ground with people. my boundaries are more solid and i'm quicker to be decisive about who to not let in my life. i'm much harder to embarrass. 30s are stellar

It’s alright. Staying healthy starts taking deliberate effort. Most people are coasting by here, but you can continue to learn and improve, and that becomes an accumulating advantage. Small rituals at this time scale can really add up and become big accomplishments.

30s: Sober, self-aware, and realizing time's pace & life's fragility watching parents age. Upside: financial growth & better career. But, long coding hours mean I must exercise. Balancing responsibilities, stress, and self-care is key.
