Uno feed is a little delayed as we recover from a Snapchain outage. Waypoint was running uninterrupted for over a month, restarted, became misconfigured when things came back online. So we need some time to catch up to now.

Onboarding onto your own app is emotional violence. You go through the signup flow and every stage is like 50 hours of more work. And then you complete all those stages and you’ll still think the flow won’t be good enough.

Chain of custody presents a significant challenge when onboarding existing users who already have an EOA with Warpcast (neé Farcaster). If users import their existing Warpcast EOA into Uno, we gain full custody privileges to the FID. This creates a support challenge, as Uno users may reasonably expect us to help them transfer their FID to a new EOA when needed. But what if the user expects support to remain with Warpcast? Additionally, there's a notable security concern. If net new Uno users export their EOA to another client that subsequently has a security breach, we might not be able to help them recover that FID. It could be transferred away forever! But given our confidence in our app security practices, we are more than happy to give more limited scope permissions via an auth address EOA. Judge Boasberg asks in the Meta antitrust trial, "Shouldn't we assume that's what [users] want, and therefore, what you're terming underinvestment is just a shift that follows where users want to be?" DOJ is saying Meta controls the feed to show fewer friends, and therefore, what users consume, and so any claims by the DOJ of underinvesting in certain areas of their apps is an issue of Meta's total market control.

Going from miniapp to full app is an eye watering amount of work to undertake. Most builders will “skip” authentication by putting themselves in debt with a centralized product. If you fumble this or can’t manage that vendor you’re not going to make it far in building other pieces.
