We’re buying a switch for the boys this Christmas Currently they only get 1hr per day of screen time on the weekends What are your best recommendations for this transition? What games should we play?

Not that I’d have recommendations at this stage, but 1hr per day at what age? I’ve somewhat assumed there will be an age where the flood gates open

No recs on games to play. But I highly recommend physical activity or other “eat your vegetable” activities in exchange to earn time beyond the hour a day.

My boys (and the younger neighbor boys) LOVE Super Smash Bros. The younger one might be a bit too young for Zelda breath of the wild, but the other one might like it. Mario Kart.

My boys are big fans of Kirby, Super Mario Odyssey and Super Mario Kart. They can only play in the weekend, 2 hours in the morning, sometimes 3 if the parents want to have 1 additional hour of peaceful time :P

Mario Wonder, Mario Kart are both a lot of fun! And we’ve been playing Crossy Road Castle, really great and quick rounds so it’s easy not to overdo it. We also have the kids help clean or play outside to earn screen time which works well for us!

New Mario party game is v fun for groups New Zelda is great + creative, Mario odyssey is great, breath of the wild might be hard depending on age, splatoon always hits for kids

BOTW is the best game on switch, no contest. If they are playing together--Kirby is a good co-op, Mario 3D world is a good co-op, too. They both give kind of help to player 2 if they are younger than the other. As the magic eden intern, I rarely interact with children but this is the best advice I can give based on personal research (200+ hours playing BOTW)
