My Canadian family and friends are genuinely freaking out and angry about the tariff threats by Trump. People are really boycotting American goods and getting hostile towards America in general. Are any other Canadians experiencing this

Yes, most noticeable thing is that Grocery stores are clearly labeling made in Canada goods, and companies are peppering maple leaves all over their packaging.

Yup, tons of people I know are boycotting American goods and changing travel plans. Myself included. Nothing unifies Canadians like the threat of becoming Americans. The history of Canada is pretty much « not American ».

Yup, lots of friends are going out of their way to purge as much American products and services from their life, trust has been lost. No intention to reverse even if tariffs drop. It's less about tariffs and more about the threats to our sovereignty.

I mean it’s pretty hard not to be upset. For the longest time I could not speak about Trump at work. It never went well. I live in a VERY conservative part of Ontario. Now, it’s different, I can say whatever I want and usually I’m agreed with. For some, once you point out the facts, I can tell they’re stunned.

All my friends will not be travelling at all to the states and will avoid American products. This is on top of the regular Elon Musk boycott.

I live in FL with a lot of Canadian snowbirds who either rent here in the winter or own 2nd homes. 3 neighbors are my mom’s are selling their house or not renting next year. It’s sad.
