gm What's your favorite notes app? 📝 I started with Apple's Notes app and then migrated to three other apps over the past years but ended up coming back to the Notes app.

As much as I try to leave it, I just can’t quit Evernote… I’ve tried many other notes apps - latest one being drafts - and I always find Evernote to be the quickest fastest for quick capture and now - for personal knowledge management

Used to use notation velocity and simple note syncing to Dropbox. Now I mostly use Google Docs but looking to get back to plain text note taking.

Roam Research is absolutely the best notes app you can use. Especially the way the tagging system and links between notes works. But it’s really not great for mobile. If I need to record something quick, I use Evernote on my phone.

On mobile I’ve become fairly app agnostic. Desktop 90% Roam rest audience dependent. I try to put all my notes in front of general audiences as early as possible (good ones), to drop thoughts Vs chunk.

Simplenote. Does what it says on the tin. Main benefit over apple notes is that it works on all platforms.

I use Apple notes as a slip box then synthesize/reflect with obsidian. I like knowing that I have all the .md files locally

I’m making Obsidian.md for this Apple Notes sets a very high bar on mobile, but the latest beta version of Obsidian is finally good enough for me to use it everywhere. I can finally get the lightness and quick capture of Apple Notes with the depth of Obsidian.

Raw file formats, either .txt or .md Bonus points for hooking them up to version control so that you have a change log and diffs

Apple notes #1, Notion if I need to share / work collaboratively, Fathom for zoom calls, and the Moleskin app if I’ve got my iPad and want to use a pencil.
