after 24h in tokyo the biggest thing i have noticed is just how QUIET everything is compared to NYC there are a gazillion people around – but its so quiet! so nice in NYC i can always hear a helicopter, music in the distance, someone yelling lol

It’s the best. It’s so clean and quiet in a wonderfully nice way. I can also wear headphones and listen to music and walk alone at night as a woman. This is a bit novelty for me and it never wears off.

yes!!! it gets even more noticeable inside trains imo. + cleaning! peak for me was seeing the stairs of a subway station getting vacuum cleaned (and in the middle of the day).

never been to nyc (first time will be this dec) but tokyo at night feels way safer than any other country i’ve been to, even after watching a bunch of japanese crime documentaries lol

Very different vibe. NYC is full of energy as what people have been saying; Tokyo is generally orderly despite being another mega city. Tokyo is my personal favourite
