What are the issues you encounter that prevent Warpcast from being a world class app in the social category? Mainly on mobile and compared against apps like X, Instagram, Bluesky and other network heavy apps. I wouldn't compare it with Telegram and WhatsApp for example since those are local-first apps, which Warpcast isn't.

The DMs are kind of janky -- like it feels 80% complete as a product Enough to do basic things, but death by paper cuts compared to TG or Whatsapp Examples: - no swipe to do action - no long press preview - emoji search is weird - no stickers - degrades at large group sizes Would love to have the polish of the world class apps, I've become accustomed to it

A lot of the time I’ll see a notification for a new DC but when I click into the DCs tab I don’t see any new messages until I restart the app

whole app feels utilitarian. very little rizz. UX ignores snapchat, tiktok, fortnitification of design. UI lacks playfulness, fun, and premium touches like animation, taptics. too many taps to accomplish frequent flows, especially around composition. using warpcast feels like a chore where i have to do a dozen taps to achieve something simple while preserving state (ie feed position or draft text). blocking modals should be replaced by toasts with progress bars and CTA buttons. image and video uploads are slow media playback not world class. cannot even rotate landscape videos to fit screen. no media tab on profiles. women dominate social media usage and have been observed to communicate vibe via images (ig, pinterest, tt). arguably a masculine “intellectual” bias in lagging media first features. DCs do not inspire joy, details like read receipts lack satisfying design flourishes. the landing page CTA does not correspond to what the app is actually good at.

a transparent way to be able to post videos or apply to be able to post videos i only got video access as i went on a call with ted. which is how i grew my account i have no idea how others can access that feature and that doesn’t happen on other apps :)

Discovered this while in Saudi and exactly sure how to resolve either. But, X worked much better in low connectivity situations. WC took a long time to show new casts, or just errored out. X still took a while but eventually tweets loaded without images and I could scroll. Second, notifications consistently take longer to show up on initial app open versus X or really any other application.

One other bug that's a little bit more annoying but not completely breaking the UX is the fact that notifications aren't updated, but rather more notifications are appended. In a large group chat, this results in notifications for one message, seven messages, thirteen messages, etc. all piling up in the notification shade instead of one updating notification saying there are more messages in the chat and just incrementing the number.

I'm not sure this is something that is solvable at all, but: it still feels too cringe to share URLs to it. Sharing out of social apps is critical, but I can't send Warpcast links to normie friends without outing myself as a crypto person. (Maybe I need to get a different set of friends! But those are already on FC.)

Notifications are janky. If I click on one, I'm almost never brought to the content (DM usually) that the notification was about. Also DM read status is broken. I have to tap in to a conversation multiple times for it to appear as read.

better search and search features like search at granular levels - user, channel. there is buoy, but added friction to use another app. i know it’s on the roadmap, but from the current state perspective.

Small detail: The app icon is rather spartan and lacks brand recognition. Bluesky does better here by using it as a splash screen animation. Perhaps it is time for a Warpcast icon facelift.

The file size! This is a really big issue. Also gifs have lots of problems uploading, and the image quality should be reduced significantly to be able to cast.
