Different take: the left↔right axis is becoming irrelevant on the political compass vs the authoritarian↔libertarian axis. So left↔right swings don't mean much; the electorate is only choosing the option closest to their top-bottom preference during this chaotic shift. Diagram from @doranalytics & @balajis.eth:

Like other things at other scales, governance processes are a beautiful emergent system (modulo gerrymandering)

This post on Farcaster has more engagement than Linda's same post on X. On the one hand, Farcaster exceeding X's reach is awesome. On the other hand, this film needs to be more than just the Ethereum community talking to itself in order to be successful. Please spread the word all the channels you have!

When will light clients have truly won? When every non-RISC-y CPU instruction set has instructions for Ethereum light client verification the way they do AES today.

Other than the privacy implications (yikes) of Solana's Actions/Blinks, it's a real UX upgrade worth standardizing. Was this feature being developed in the open? Feels like it just dropped with no forewarning to the Ethereum ecosystem. (Perhaps a disadvantage of building in the open?)

It's 2024 and some people still think blockchains have no use-case. Failure of the industry to properly communicate its usefulness to the world, or willful blindness from the rest of the tech community? https://x.com/forrestbrazeal/status/1797643911516786986

Donate ETH to the legal defense of Alexey Pertsev and Roman Storm. This is +ev, as the value from enabling privacy on blockchains vastly outweighs the cost of this legal defense. https://juicebox.money/@free-pertsev-and-storm

Code is speech. Today's ruling for Alexey Pertsev highlights the urgent need for native privacy tooling on Ethereum. Something written or operated by a DAO won't cut it.
