This would pair quite well with ERC-6860 (onchain HTTP spec, which can redirect to IPFS)

This looks like it is for "platforms" that need to pay out to their members (and thus these members can get stablecoins), not for individual merchants to get paid themselves. It's also not clear if it's possible to set up without a US identity. But promising for Stripe to get more serious about stablecoins!

I think where verifiability would help is to be able to assert that the agent is acting autonomously, as opposed to each of its actions being guided and/or vetted by a human before actually posting. Some attempts exist at running them in TEEs for this reason but it's not perfect.

Neither of these seem to enable accepting USD debit card payments unfortunately.

Always entertaining to do this in a virtual machine (Need to add `--no-preserve-root`)

I'm not just referring to physical security, but also secure property rights, legal status stability, and (some degree of) resource self-sufficiency.

Strong autonomy and ability to fend for itself. Don't want another Próspera vs Honduras situation.

Unfortunately this merchant isn't US-based and doesn't have a US bank account. The USDC step is just so they can easily convert it to their local fiat in their local bank with minimal fees. Do you know if it is possible to set all this up without a US bank account?

Thanks regardless! drift.money is cool too, just a different use-case.

This is a non-crypto-native, non-US-based merchant who is traveling to the US to sell their merch. Their goal is to get their local fiat into their local bank account with minimal fees. They currently use PayNow to charge US credit cards, but doesn't work with debit. I would like to see whether crypto can do better.

Thanks for the pointer. The merchant doesn't have a US bank account nor can create one, hence why Square PoS to bank is out of the picture. Looks like /fernhq solves the "accepting wire transfers, receive as USDC" part. I wonder if it's possible to hook up Square or PayPal PoS to a Fern virtual account number?

A merchant wants to accept USD debit cards (for in-person sales) in the US, and get paid in USDC. What is the current best solution for this?

Seems fair, so long as there exists sufficient accountability and/or credible exit mechanisms against the strategy of switching to a brazen pursuit of B in the future.
