i don’t miss many things about the US now that i live in SG, but there are a few things that still make me nostalgic - how friendly dog owners are, letting everyone pet their dogs. - tech stuff that are always released first in the US market like cybertruck, rabbit r1, vision pro - trader joe’s.

My greediness has increased tenfold in Japan; I want to buy anything and everything here because it’s all so good and unique. Unfortunately, my luggage space is keeping my greediness in check. :(

the idea of having a single global time zone is great, but let’s also consider standardizing voltages and outlet types. imagine a world where you don’t have to worry about your electronics getting fried or simply not working when you travel, and where carrying multiple adaptors becomes a thing of the past.

made a quick stopover in tokyo on my way to farcon. love how people here are so nice and even though it’s a crowded and fast paced city, they exhibit patience i’ve never seen in a metro city. plus the food is just amazing! japan has yet to fail to amaze me. one of the best countries on our blue planet.

the cost and latency of llama 3 compared to other models are incredibly good. once again, open source ftw! https://x.com/shishirpatil_/status/1783960177051627706?s=46&t=Xd7csKkXEcxjSTTM24WEiw

after a few days at a hackathon, it feels like you’ve stepped into a different world. everything’s moved on while you were deep in code. now, catching up feels weird, and sleep? forget about itβ€”it just doesn’t come easy. it’s like you’ve got a serious case of jet lag, but without ever leaving your time zone

I really enjoy going on random walks and spotting wildlife. Despite being a bustling city, Singapore is designed to allow both humans and wildlife to coexist. The other day I spotted a family of otters rolling in the sand and having fun. It seems that siblings who don’t fight are a rarity, even among otters.

inner vs outer scorecard: as social animals, we seek praise and acceptance from others. However, problems arise when our own standards conflict with societal standards. true happiness and satisfaction come from living by our inner scorecard. https://fs.blog/the-inner-scorecard/
