sometimes i think i'd be less stressed if i got a job, but the other part of me keeps wanting to push because my life goal is to have self sustaining income and the freedom of not having a boss or working for someone else, but at this point it feels like i'm a prisoner of my own decisions, haven't been happy in so many months, it's friday night and i'm sitting at my desk, 20 friday nights in a row been working or thinking about work, every second is thinking about what i could or should be doing idk thinking out loud and putting it on farcaster helps get my head out of my ass to talk with people, maybe i should move to nyc and see people because right now i see a friend maybe once a month, i wish i had friends to play pickleball with or do stuff with, i wish i wasn't on my computer every waking second of my day, it's all consuming and its slowly killing me and im sacrificing everything for the facade of freedom, this isn't freedom

to be completely honest, it sounds like the environment you're describing is also not conducive to your stated goals. even if work is #1 priority, staying isolated on the computer reduces your ability to think laterally and come up with fresh ideas or iterations on your work, you end up getting stuck in unproductive thought loops. i resonate with the desire to not have a job, have been on my own pathless path for a year now. but it's worth noting that having some level of income security, even in short term, may give you a bit more space and clarity to make decisions that are better for long-term freedom. right now you feel like your back is against the wall and it adds to the stress and forces you into short-term thinking

nah you’re good, rant away. founders - even when they’re doing the right things, got funding, got the project going, etc etc - there are still struggles that should be talked about but founders are forced to keep a straight face to remain professional.

dang raw truth right there good luck finding your path. I've been blessed to find a career that brought meaning and satisfaction with very little to not enjoy on a daily basis, including the capacity to work alone and with small teams over the years. not sure how solo devs/programmers do it in terms of the social connections so many folks find through work. that being said agriculture is mighty hard way to meet the bills of life. keep farcaster journaling as it helps your mind sort it all out.

Oh, please don't give up. I think everyone's goal is to pursue freedom. As long as we don't give up and make long-term efforts for it, we will get the freedom we want. On this road, we will never be alone.

From my experience I can tell you that the topic of financial freedom and professional development is something that many of us pursue at your age; but with the passage of time, in my case, I realized that my life did not have a transcendent purpose, and it was at that moment when I decided to give my life to God and understood that my purpose goes beyond the material and the temporal and I began to live a full life in Jesus. He changed my life and now He gave me a family, with which I can enjoy all the blessings He has prepared for those who love Him. Many will tell you to go to the gym, to hang out with friends and even to persist because later you will have a lot of money; but none of that will fulfill you, only Christ can fulfill you. “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” ‭‭John‬ ‭10‬:‭10

highly recommend this as a resource to discover and get to the life you want. tl;dr you can A/B test your way there and half the battle is the process of learning what you really want have had many friends where this changed their whole life: https://designingyour.life

It's tough! You may be feeling a bit of burn out. I think burn out comes when you are putting a lot of effort into something and not seeing the results you're wanting. Taking a day or two off may help. Also sounds like maybe figuring out a better routine for yourself could help. Go outside daily, join a sports team, get in a rhythm where you are doing some things besides work. In the long run I think those things can help you be more productive when you are working and give you the creativity and ideas you need. Also, if it's finances that are giving you the stress, finding a little side gig could really help. I bet you could find a contract job where you work 1 or 2 days a week. If you had this it would extend your runway potentially forever and you wouldn't have to worry about the finances which frees your brain to make things happen on your biz.
