I only find myself using ChatGPT for two things: 1. SQL / code generation 2. Attempt to explain a failed Google search like “why do cyclists not race hard on the final stage of the Spanish Vuelta”—but always a bit wary of hallucinations. What else should I use it for?

I make flashcards with an app called Anki for long-term memory retention on concepts / data I really care about. I’ve found ChatGPT quite useful for coming up with good flashcards on concepts I’m learning.

Naming stuff. If the names it gives you aren't quite right, just tell it why it's not quite right and to try again, and it will zero on quick on some good ideas. Asking questions of the form of "Hey, what's the deal with ____ ?" And just conversing with it until I understand the topic better.

I use Bard for: - coding, scripting, sheets formulas - comparing things - legal, medical, health questions - summarizing articles, news, etc. - tips on new games such as BG3 and Starfield - random conversations Bard having up-to-date info makes a huge difference over ChatGPT. I mainly use ChatGPT as a fallback.

Most of my usage is as a brainstorming partner exploring and testing ideas. Pushing back when needed and then asking for additional evidence. Helps me learn about a topic fairly quickly - and then fact checking with other sources as needed.
