Patronage feels like the closest word IMO, but "Patronizing" has another negative connotation... Subsidizing? Sponsoring? Endowing? Stewarding?

“Passive Income” is top and to the right. “Earn 5% passive income, automatically, on all funds held in your warplet.” Did a lot of user research at my previous project and this was the normie unlock. Our lawyers then essentially demanded that we didn’t use it because it the legal fear, but the times have changed.

Given the two axes, I think collecting and patronage fit the best. That said, I don’t think the y axis is aligned with the intent of your post. Gambling could easily be in the top left since they play the power of law and typically need more valuable individual returns. If the y axis was high/low expectations, the bottom left quadrant would be flipping and the bottom right would be collecting.

Patronage. And as you move up the vertical spectrum, you get Patronage+ where the motivation is primarily patronage but with the possibility of a long term payout, which is why NFTs are cool.

probably sth like “seeding” - like seed funding, in a way that it’s different from a solid investment as it’s more speculative and belief-driven. but chances are gambling can be “more valuable” for some ppl, so the top/bottom might be more about “calculated vs speculative” Investing: Calculated belief based on data Seeding: Intuitive belief based on vision Gambling: Belief based on chance Trading: Belief based on short-term patterns
