Atlanta is irrelevant to this story. The data centers will be built somewhere.

This is less about land but there will be local political push back if they don't figure out their power issue. Data centers are starting to stress our power grid in Nebraska which is causing frustration within the local populace. On the positive, we have an idle nuclear plant that we might be able to bring back online because of the stress. Regardless, rolling brownouts and potential blackouts are the biggest issue that will prevent data center growth.

i'd rather have data centers than self-storage places those are crazy that they exist like everywhere. we own too much stuff (and a lot of us don't own somewhere to put it) first world problems 🤣💀 ps used to work at storage places and it's cool if you're looking for somewhere to live cuz the manager gets to live on the apartment built in on premises (at least in arizona storage places) p.s.s. we are having a lot of data centers being built here in phoenix i think

Nashville area would welcome them. Meta has already setup shop here with a second on the way. As has Amazon. And Oracle is moving their HQ here alongside a data center.

Relevant only bc of existing infrastructure to power them - can’t really just use any rural towns bc lack of fiber and energy infrastructure

I wonder how these new data centers will cope with the lack of adequate power supply from the grid, given the whole world is on a constant race to the bottom, to kill affordable, reliable power and reduce demand. 🤔

I think Virginia is going to be the data center state. https://virginiamercury.com/2024/12/18/virginia-to-host-worlds-first-fusion-power-plant/

Atlanta's significance transcends a single project. Its growing tech ecosystem and strategic location make it pivotal for future innovations, even if this particular data center isn't set there.
