As the Ford Model T became successful throughout the 1910s, groups of people started digging holes in roads and filling them with water. At night, drivers would run into the holes and get stuck in the mud. The people who created the holes would then charge money to help them get out. They were called "mudhole pirates".

Reading the r/UFO subreddit last night gave me the same vibes as crypto during bubbles. It doesn't matter whether the NJ drones are UFOs or that one coin is going to the moon, the specific outcomes don't matter. It's the absolute batshit insane mania by the people in the discussions that are the same. Lesson in that.
