only if you ship a tab in "settings" where you can manage the list people you have muted. otherwise, you mute them forever and you can't re-find them unless you search their username URL. and i believe in people changing and evolving their interests and changing their casting behaviors or content.

I think the issue here is that muting is essentially blocking. I dont want to block you, then have no ability to ever find you again and having to refollow. Agree. Problem is, itโ€™s a status thing. โ€˜Omg X person follows me! They love me!โ€™ And โ€˜Omg Y person unfollowed me, they hate me now!โ€™ And when your a big account, who knows what will trigger someone to try ruin your life for a perceived insult.

Both tools (unfollow/mute) don't map fully on the underlying desire/problem: Children can be annoying and you mute them by sending them for a while to their room. Mute for X hours/days is already a validated feature in other chat/social apps, would make way more sense than binary follow / unfollow / mute actions imo.
