I’ll repeat this 1000 more times: consumer social apps in 2023 require a mobile-first experience. The last time desktop-first worked was in 2010.

I totally agree. But: I believe (you have the data, maybe I'm wrong) that mobile is where consumption takes place and desktop is where production takes place. In case of Farcaster, there's space (different clients) to optimize for both.

This happens because tools are always built desktop first. When tools start being built mobile first, mobile first development will be the primary thing devs reach for.

one counter example I'd give to this. that is, by crypto standards, one of the most wholesome and consistent consumer social games the past number of months has been Basepaint. They didn't optimize for mobile until months after. the editor works best on desktop and they optimized around that.

correct - I question if I’d have gotten *this* into FC if I hadn’t experienced the Warpcast app, first. Now, I’m fully castpilled, with Warpcast, Yup, Supercast, Firefly, Tiles, JamFrens, BuilderFi, FarQuest, Kiwi on mobile… and warpcastdotcom PWA’d on the iPad. That’s 9:1, mobile:desktop UX/UI, lol.
