My workout motivation always dips in the winter. How do y’all overcome winter blues?

Easier to get PBs when running outside as your muscles stay cool which helps with endurance

I train for the spring races. I like running in the cold much more than the summer hot. Having friends to challenge (or a goal to reach) keeps me motivated

Workout is what keeps me going in winter. If I can’t go I at least do 15min of jogging or home workouts to force myself to do something

Put your workout clothes on as soon as you wake up! This is a game changer! And have a workout plan so that you know exactly what to do during the workout session. This will help through the days you just want to be on the couch watching Netflix while listening to the rain, instead of working out. You got this.

Live somewhere where there is no real winter. Solves many other problems ;)

I don't require "motivation" to lift/workout. Knowing the result of not working out is "motivation" enough. And I just enjoy lifting.

I actually do more in winter. Same gym schedule, still play a ton of tennis indoors, and I replace golf with backcountry splitboarding on the weekends

A sauna/steam room session at the end of a workout is a great push on cold days.

I struggle with this too. I try to focus on just being active in general, rather than following a strict plan. Any movement in the winter is a win for me. It's also been helpful to try and avoid streaks of days with no activity.
