the hu.ma.ne product demo is so off putting and uncanny, and i am struggling to find words that explain why. is it because it feels like they’re trying to boil the ocean with their version 1? maybe the speaking style or how slow the transitions are to showcase simple tasks? anyone else feel this way?

I didn't really pay much attention to the presentation itself and more on the product and how I'd use it. Looking back at the delivery itself, I agree that it wasn't great. They should launch a version of this just for kids. Keep kids away from screens, but let them text, call, remember homework, etc.

Super sedated demo. Re the device: 1) Laser ink - clunky, silly, I don’t want to be seen doing that. The interface should just be a smart watch. 2) Pin - also clunky, awkward. The camera, mic, and speaker should be a necklace or something more normal. Use cases are super cool though, and admire the ambition.

I read it as aggressive “calm” rather than lack of enthusiasm. More like a deliberate ‘retvrn to Mark Weiser’ branding attempt. Makes sense to avoid whiz bang if the whole idea of the product is to leverage the periphery of attention. But yeah not sure about the form factor…

The gestural controls, feel super forced and unintuitive, and like former Apple product designers with shoestring resources an insane overvaluation, going to market prematurely with a product that will most likely kind of suck… When I think GenAI innovation I don’t think T-Mobile

Not to needlessly dunk on stuff like this (no expectation that founders are born actors) but the bar is: please smile like you’re pleased with your own product. That said, watched it all and somehow the more compelling for the idiosyncratic charisma.

Whole demo felt flat and inauthentic. I am totally on board with the mission and vision but I think the execution feels lacking - people will stick pick up their phone to take pictures, use their watch for health metrics, etc
