Passkey-only web wallets will win out in the end. No social login. Incredible experience. https://x.com/willhennessy_/status/1785694723040043415

Agree with @itai's take below: the 3rd wallet factor is web wallets and the 4th is portfolio apps - aligned with my article last week. One qualifier: web wallets are a significantly better experience when auth'd purely with a passkey (not social login). https://paragraph.xyz/@kyle/crypto-will-10x-internet-ux

What @imthedude asked for, as a frame. NOTE: Some airdrops we have are on chains we don't track completions for yet, so this frame may say you have an airdrop waiting for you that you've actually already claimed. https://checker.daylight.xyz/

Going to a friend's big gay wedding this weekend, and I'm having to Google search every fourth word in the attire guidelines like I'm at some fancy foreign restaurant.

Two years ago. Web wallets (passkeys, no app download) from exchanges and wallets will finally make this possible. This is how we will get to hundreds of millions of transacting users. https://twitter.com/kylemccollom/status/1519130068907343874

One potential concern with passkey-based web wallets is that it trains users to sign transactions on popup windows, exposing the user to scams. But a passkey is tied to the specific domain where it was created, so only the domain that created the passkey can request its use to sign transactions.

I got very web-wallet-pilled over the past couple weeks. I encourage you to spend time thinking about the implications of passkey-only, web-based wallet solutions like https://www.smart-wallet.xyz/. Go through the flow and think about how much better the Internet is about to get.

Web wallets don't exist yet outside of testnet. They have no downloadable app, don't require social login, and are powered by passkeys. They are a new thing that will change everything.

For the first time in crypto, I see a clear path to hundreds of millions of monthly transacting users. The upcoming crypto UX is 10x better than web2, and every web2 app will be forced to adapt. All thanks to web wallets and the open social graph. Read more: https://paragraph.xyz/@kyle/crypto-will-10x-internet-ux

Thinking about this more: I don’t think smart wallet is the right branding. The user won’t relate to smart contract account features nearly as much as they will to 1) passkeys and 2) no app download. A better term here would be “web wallet”, the evolution being browser wallet -> mobile wallet -> web wallet.

Passkeys can be default saved to your 1Password very easily, so they are already cross device and cross ecosystem.

It sounds like people’s biggest knock against passkeys is that where they are stored is siloed to the Apple or Android ecosystem, so when a user changes platforms, they have a hard time accessing. This seems fairly edge case, solvable via a migration tool, and not a good enough reason to lose the ease of passkeys.
