I was at the Spotify office early to demo something when everyone simultaneously learned ByteDance had bought musical.ly. It was a quiet moment of “whoa” knowing the game became bigger than App Store charts.. Half their company focused on deep learning and data science.

Decided quickly afterwards to keep distance.

Same here, and now it just feels awkward to join this late even if I had an inclination to do so.

I’m just waiting for the cool kids to declare it passé, so I can adopt the next shinier thing right when it’s fashionable to do so

Or I may die of old age before that happens, either way is cool with me

It's very possible to have a great time on tiktok without seeing silly dances on your feed. Mines all music, production, marketing, AI tools, science and stand-up.
