I donno if it's because DeepSeek has raised my expectations a ton but I'm finding perplexity's results recently....not great? Where it used to be alright at giving quick but direct summaries of news, I'm finding that I really need to ask a lot of follow-up questions to get the actual info I'm seeking

Have any folks in the group read these? I've found going through author catalogues increasingly futile, so I'm working backwards by finding interesting ideas on which stories are built. Niven's Ringworld is a case in point, but current vibe is Eyeball planets.
