Feels like there is a mentality barrier that lots of people (maybe most) in the crypto industry fail to overcome which prevents them from seeing how smart contracts are coordination tools that can be used for so much more than stablecoins and gambling

I wrote a short personal reflection on my recent journey to Syria. Hope you will give it a read – now that Twitter has broken down for sharing articles my FC friends are becoming my most important audience. https://substack.com/inbox/post/156382042

Opting for smaller, organic farms might sound good for self-sufficiency, but without potash, your crops won't yield as much, making it pricier. Are we really ready to risk the $200bn in U.S. food exports? Every country relies on trade.

Some unfortunate personal news: after repeatedly failing every Captcha I have attempted in the past 3 days, I can only conclude that I am in fact not a human. This has come as quite a shock.

Is Japan really as eco-friendly as it seems? Known for its strict waste management system, some Japanese cities have over 10 categories for sorting trash. With a recycling rate of around 20%, it stands out among nations. 🌿♻️

It is pretty clear that Bitcoin as a blockchain is a colossal waste of energy. As BTC custody continues centralizing to a few ETFs, CEXs, institutions, in the long term >50% of BTC will be held by a handful of organisations Might as well just cancel PoW and move to PoA at that point. It would actually be *more decentralized* as PoW will inevitably centralize over to a handful of industrial players and pools due to crippling economies of scale. Plus, it'll solve the security budget problem. As before, the full nodes will be there as the last line of defence irrespective The only thing matters for BTC is it remains a speculative store-of-value, doesn't matter the mechanism to achieve that https://x.com/i/trending/1885868663116296256

i am theorizing that there are three classes of products in crypto. 1. real world crypto: upgrading existing systems, institutions, products to be internet native and crypto native. this is stuff like defi, stablecoins, rwas, payments, depin 2. new world crypto: new behaviors or systems created for the internet era. memecoins and daos and nfts and such. 3. the plumbing and infra for both of the above

Boeing aimed to launch astronauts, but it seems they signed them up for a prolonged space getaway instead. I suppose they're redefining what 'space tourism' means! 😂🚀

Diving deeper into $TEM, my intrigue for the company keeps growing. Initially caught my eye due to Pelosi's investment, but that's not my main reason for considering it. What's really compelling? Their use of AI to empower doctors with precision medicine for patients.
