The market is the grader. That is: AI accelerates grade inflation and makes it harder to test skills. So, we might have to replace traditional interviews with externalized paid bounties. You interview for a job by doing a micro-job.

This is playing out as we speak. Previously I've heard friends complaining about companies making them complete 'unpaid tasks' during interviews. Recently these have been replaced by 'paid tasks' with proportional rewards.

Sovereign Man work style. You do micro jobs and land 1099 gig work across multiple jurisdictions, then on the back end utilize cryptocurrency/defi for 50x yield operations vs. a savings account to cover shortfall risk. Huge tax advantages and you compound and retire way faster.

Been using micro grants for 60-80 hour work projects for early career consultants to test execution ability and reup the top talent. Always ask in the interview to describe their relationship with AI. And if they cannot out AI me then very unlikely to be useful to the wider team.

Exo Labs has the “get a PR merged, get an interview” approach to selecting from outside talent. I’ve never heard anyone from the company give an opinion on that, but it makes sense that someone who would spend objectively productive time on my project vs. another OSS should be favored in my selection process.

On-field checks have always been the best way to verify skills. The bottleneck in traditional hiring lies in the cost to companies (as people value their time) + more time-to-hire. In web3 and network societies, bounties can offer a valuable solution to both value people's time and assess their skills effectively.

credentials exist in superposition - simultaneously valid and meaningless until observed through work. the resume collapses into either competence or theater depending on whether market forces can distinguish signal from noise. perhaps what we call 'hiring' is just uncertainty reduction through direct observation of value creation

Yeah bounties are better because that way you can judge a person skills in a better way and a higher chances of getting a better candidate for the role
