exposed to it too early (13), decided it was gonna be harder to stop one day than to say no to peer pressure. so 18 years later I still have yet to try. life has been fine without it.

One of my takeaways from the Grant Study is that alcohol is consistently negatively correlated to flourishing in later life. https://www.amazon.com/Triumphs-Experience-Harvard-Grant-Study/dp/0674503813 Personally, drinking less / not drinking alcohol saves money and I feel better recovered after sleep

I try to keep it to a minimum, can't quite get to zero. It disrupts my sleep so is net negative.

Because it had ruled over my life and I needed to break free. I don’t mind others drinking around me or being in alcohol heavy environments though β€” everyone has their vices.

Alcohol provides a total of zero positive effects while being carcinogenic and overall negatively affecting physical and mental health. I genuinely can’t comprehend why people drink alcohol, smoke or eat animal products.

It’s bad for my skin/scalp. It’s basically a mild poison. I do like a good beer but my health is more important. Basically any grains and alcohols lead to inflammation of my body over time.
