I'm constantly thinking about how to improve this platform for artists, collectors and art enjoyers alike. I kind of left Twitter/X for various reasons, since Musk took over and turned it into a propaganda machine. But whenever I return there for a quick update, my art feed is really top notch. Almost everybody who is active here, also posts or cross-shares frequently on X as well. But more important, a lot of artist I want to follow and I want to be informed about only post there (and maybe on Bluesky, Mastodon, IG as well, don't know). Point is, they all have a Farcaster account, but turned their backs on the platform at some point or never really got into it. I would therefore be delighted if they were to return and exploit Farcaster's potential. 23 replies

I’ve always loved evolving on Twitter since 2021, watching the great artists. But the problem is that these artists and collectors form a small, closed-off group. No response, neither to comments nor DMs, ever. Nothing. I found it ridiculous to watch them communicate among themselves while seeing the astronomical sums of their sales.
Yes, they are great artists, no doubt. So, we try competitions, hundreds of us hoping to get noticed, trying to become great too. But we’re never selected, understandably, considering how many of us are trying to show up, like children in class raising their hands saying, “Me, me, me!” and then… nothing. No notifications, no sales, no comments. So, we create a small network of artist friends, but since we’re all broke and can’t sell anything, we burn out. We navigate through scams, ads, rugs, and manipulations. So, we try to inject some fun, giving away works to our friends. 1 reply

Thanks for opening up this discussion! I joined Farcaster out of curiosity without knowing anyone, and while I’ve met a few people through global meetups, I still find the platform quite closed off in many ways.
One major challenge is engagement, tipping is an interesting feature, but it can make interactions feel transactional. Many artists don’t have the resources to tip regularly, and without that, getting visibility can be difficult. On other platforms like X or Instagram, engagement feels more organic, anyone can interact, comment, or join a conversation easily. 1 reply
