Had the pleasure of catching the Marshmallow Laser Feast show at Bitforms in NY this weekend. It's a sumptuous feast of manipulated point clouds (presumably LIDAR scans?) and generative animations. https://www.bitforms.art/artist/marshmallow-laser-feast

A friend pointed out my recent posting about my Towers series on @rodeodotclub was a bit confusing. Wrote this in a comment: These renders I've been posting as teasers represent my process working with 3D models as source material. Iterating different visual treatments (some serious, some ridiculous) is me finding a satisfying approach to the form. Faux architecture or candy-colored kitsch? Maybe brutalist monument? The plan is to release Towers as a series of rendered images, but importantly also as interactive GLTF models - my first serious foray into distributable 3D content. 🔴🔴🔴

The Hydrant Directory by Day Lane is a sweet project that provides index of fire hydrants that have been decorated by street artists or local residents. Each hydrant has been 3D scanned (Polycam) and is viewable online with its GPS address, an interactive 3D model and a color palette based on the scan.
