gm today i ordered a latte and couldn’t taste the coffee enough and according to my barista this is normal and i’ve graduated to cappuccinos and then eventually i won’t taste the coffee enough in those so i’ll reach the boss level of black coffee. is this true???!?!? i’m too wholesome for black coffee 🥺

Black coffee is just called "coffee" The freaks who add things to coffee need to use adjectives, not us

If you drink it with raw milk, the taste will be better and you will feel the coffee much better. It’s also great for the gut!

What’s unwholesome about wanting just delicious caffeine without unnecessary sugar and dairy??

You can also go from cappuccino to cortado to macchiato. I can enjoy pour overs and fancy fruit tasting beans without milk, but I like espresso drinks with some milk.

Once you achieve this, you rarely go back. Almost all of my coffee consumption, which is a lot overall, is cold brew, iced americanos, or espresso.

Long Black is the how we do black coffee down under (we're apparently a very literal country). An espresso with about 90ml hot water - again the key is the cup size. Bigger than an espresso (so it doesn't take 3s to drink) but not a mini tanker of filter coffee.

Move to flat white (originated in NZ just for the record) which 'should be' more coffee less milk than either a latter or a cappuccino. Should be served in a tulip cup which is the issue with coffee in the US, very hard to find anything served in a small cup (other than an espresso).

I make a gut decision based on the shop: if I think they know what they’re doing, latte. Otherwise, cappuccino 😂

Next up is cortado, then plain espresso. Cortado is foam and coffee. Black coffee (drip) is so different from espresso. Love a floral, fruity in a drip but I'm over powered in a shot. Also some sparling water cleanses the palate as you drink black coffee.
