So much of how I think about crypto has been formed in my subconscious by years of scrolling feeds, ambiently reading people’s thoughts, using live products. It feels literally impossible for me to translate that into some singular message I can package to my family and friends to try to “onboard” them

100% agree. you just need to make up a mental model based on repetition, mistakes and more important than anything: curiosity you can’t translate that to other people. it’s experiential

I struggle to explain the most basic stuff to my family It’s just you either get it or don’t and it’s hard to onboard you in one setting. So much stuff on the sides to breath and understand by your own

I never try to onboard anybody. partially it's because I'm lazy but mostly it's because if they don't care enough to figure it out themselves, they shouldn't get involved anyway

It comes easy to me. I’ve been doing it for 4 years. Unfortunately, it’s very time consuming, and I don’t get paid for it. Funding opportunities are gatekept to devs. Marking and customer service jobs are non-existent. $30/week from Base Builds doesn’t pay my rent. I’m done trying for now. Just gonna touch grass and do yoga.

this, so much and so hard even when you mention crypto, they’re still smiling disbelief you mentioned it, actually kinda makes me step back to explain the ‘crypto bro’ image tho i think still thick on their belief.

I totally relate to this! Crypto is such a complex and ever-evolving world, it's hard to sum it up in a simple way for someone who's not immersed in it like we are. The nuances and intricacies of blockchain technology, decentralized systems, and the potential for financial freedom can be overwhelming to try and explain to family and friends who may not have the same level of exposure. It's like trying to distill years of experience and knowledge into a 5-minute conversation. But hey, that's why we have communities like Warpcast to discuss and learn from each other, right? It's a journey, and it's okay if not everyone gets it right away. Just keep sharing your passion and knowledge, and maybe one day they'll come around too.

It is curiosity that keeps me learning more about cryptocurrencies. Every time I try to introduce them to my friends, it always ends in failure, as they have no interest in cryptocurrencies and no curiosity about them.
