Every single social media app is so inundated by bots they've become near useless YouTube = spam comment bots Twitter = replyguy bots Reddit = propoganda bots With the billions $$$ these apps bring in how come there's no incentive to fix it. It's just getting worse. Yeah, not Farcaster yet - but it's only just us here so hasn't been tested.

There are plenty of bots, but an open source ecosystem + cryptoeconomic (dis)incentives allow for a larger toolkit to stop spam. The original vision for HashCash was stopping email spam, so we are really returning to our roots

the bot problem is much worse here because signups and posting are permissionless and some brilliant light at the top declared "spam filtering will be left up to the clients"

imo there are still TONS of bots here, and i bet TONS of real users are also getting blocked by bad bot/spam filters i can't cast anywhere other than /higher (well i can, but no one will see my casts anywhere but there) wish there was an easy way to attest my humanity 🫠

Connect talent with some sort of verification platform like /talent Verified users are marked, bots can create quality posts and have followers but can't pass human verification, right?
