I have been toying with the idea of a Hypersub subscription based on my /books reading list. However, my previous experience with Substack (I wrote a weekly newsletter for ~2 years) makes me hesitate. Towards the end the newsletter became less fun, but I felt obligated to keep going since I had paying subscribers.

We live in a world full of ephemeral projects. If it becomes a drag, tell your subscribers, stop the payments and move on. You can always see with Hypersub how you can refund time minted beyond the moment of stopping, but that literally is a bridge to cross when you come to it. Start, experiment, iterate, pull the plug and start something new.

Interesting idea for a hypersub. I have very much same outlook on newsletter. Happened to me while ago too. A lot of work and sometimes very hard to create. I always ask myself if I can do it for a year and commit to something then it is worth pursuing.

Wouldn’t be a bad idea, but I’m trying to wrap my head around how it’s going to work if people subscribe

how would it be based on your books reading list? maybe there’s a way to have an occasional guest post to take some burden off. I kkow people would want you but there would be some ways to provide value that isn’t always/totally on you.

Sometimes I feel getting paid to do something makes it less fun, but on the other hand, I like getting paid for things I love doing. Little confused, what do subscribers get here?

lool i get this. things get tiring sometimes, having to continue because you have people paying and expecting things from you is a terrible feeling. just like me having to go to work when i hate it there

How about requesting the addition of a point-based subscription system? Hosts will have the choice between existing system or adopting the new point-based system. In the point-based system, points are deducted for each piece of content dropped by the host. This means that your costs are directly tied to your activity level, which helps reduce the burden. Additionally, points can be used across different subscriptions. A cap will be set on the total number of points that can be deducted from a single hypersub within a month.

I wonder what a hypersub for books would be like Things like "Would people find similar interests like you do" "Are there going to be benefits" Would it be crazy if the books come to our wallets like an NFT?🤔 I would love it though I'm subcribed to James Clear weekly newsletter every Thursday
