What’s your most unbelievable true story about yourself? I survived being attacked by an elephant as a preschooler. Within a year the same elephant killed its trainer at the zoo.

In highschool I karate kicked a glass window and shattered it whilst trying to kill a wall gecko. Got summoned to the principals office, he obviously didn't buy my story (I'm short af). Took me to the scene of my crime, put a plank where the window previously was and asked me to kick it. I couldn't 💔

I spent the entire night trying to build an app but couldn’t find the solution, so I went to bed. The next day, the code was written and working perfectly. I don't know if I did it while sleepwalking or if an angel helped me.

That's an incredible early experience, @nerdy You immediately reminded my of Orwell's essay "Shooting an Elephant" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_an_Elephant Did this experience empower you, giving you a sense of having overcome something severe → strength? Can I do my wife instead? (Phrasing.) When she was 7 or so, she snuck out her bedroom window and onto the balcony of their 4th floor apartment for no good reason. On the way back, she slipped and fell face first on concrete and only lost some teeth. (Crazy true story & I’m glad she was somehow not horribly hurt.)

When I was 2 viral meningitis left me with 50% hearing loss. When I was 17 bacterial meningitis left me passed out and hours from death when I was discovered and rushed to hospital. Lightning strike odds of getting both types in a lifetime (& surviving both)

Fortunately, a bigger and older kid saw my distress and jumped in and swam over to me and pulled me out. I was so grateful and so scared. I can't swim to this day 30+ years later.

When I was a kid, I came close to drowning at a pool party. I accidently stepped over into the deep end, and I was unable to swim. I kept bobbing up and down and trying to wave and call for help, but I was swallowing water, and nobody saw me.
