What’s your most unbelievable true story about yourself?

I survived being attacked by an elephant as a preschooler. Within a year the same elephant killed its trainer at the zoo.

I'm 10, this other kid is 8. He was legit drowning in the middle of a pool and nobody believed him. People thought he was screwing around. Kid-me takes this seriously and jumps to save him. And still people thought we're fooling around as I drag him out and start yelling at the adults. Kid called me his hero for days.

I still remember how heavy he was! But to be honest back then I was not thinking heroics and more thinking like 'I just want to get him out of the pool so he'll stop being annoying'. Because you know I was 10 and those were my priorities. Funny to still remember your mindset from when you were 'this-tall'.

I don’t think most adults know what drowning looks like. I guess they expect splashing, but it’s more like 5 seconds of bobbing up and down and gasping for air, then sinking.
