perhaps my only stereotypically canadian quality is that I buy and use maple syrup on a regular basis for cooking. very useful for certain roasted veg, marinades, glazes, almost anything.

I love maple syrup, being a stone’s throw away from Canada has its perks. Too bad the fiancée isn’t as big of a fan or I’d be using it in a lot more dishes.

i love maple syrup so much, used to buy literal gallons from this farm in vermont. have never had maple syrup as good as this place because you can get it super dark i use a bit to add flavor to roasted veg, chicken, stir fries. my absolute favorite thing i've made is a char siu maple pork belly
