perhaps my only stereotypically canadian quality is that I buy and use maple syrup on a regular basis for cooking. very useful for certain roasted veg, marinades, glazes, almost anything.

We've been swapping regular sugar for honey and maple syrup lately. I like the idea for roasted veggies! I'll have to try this week maybe. Any favorite veggies to use it with?

honestly it’s pretty versatile, anywhere you want sweetness. simple stuff like roasted potatoes or glazed carrots. you can also add a bit to lemon juice (or balsamic) to soften the acidity for asparagus, broccoli, peppers, onions, whatever. pretty easy to roast or bbq skewers like this with chicken or beef.
