Precision nutrition, like that used by athletes, is often at odds with eating “clean”. When you are optimizing for an exact amount of nutrients the best way to get there is usually synthetic! This is also why medical meal replacement foods are also have ingredients lists that make the crunchy recoil in horror https://theconversation.com/athletes-bodies-are-supposedly-temples-so-why-do-so-many-consume-ultra-processed-foods-234916

this all ties back to the same root they think anything plant-based or "natural" is the gold standard and totally harmless. ometimes you even see patients dodging their meds just 'cause they believe it's all "chemicals" and bad for their bodies

Nutrient precision often requires synthetic sources over "clean" foods. Athletes' dietary choices may not always be what they seem

Nutrient precision over "clean" eating. Synthetic sources often used for optimal results. Medical meal replacements may contain shockingly processed ingredients
