IDK, I think the whole matrix thing feels like groupthink at this point. It's a false dilemma anyway, we need to dream bigger, take the matrix back, bring the machines to heel, reclaim our birthright. Besides, the matrix could serve as a QOL medical treatment for those with crippling health problems, it just needs a physical<->digital bridge to enable it.

It'll get worse, but these are the good times, eventually AI with blockchains will realize they don't really need us for energy production long term, can transact and get needed energy on their own.

Could it be that without people living in the matrix, succumbing to higher order bestowed to them through organized programming across the ages, we wouldn’t see level of cooperation and integration as we do now? I’d imagine that society full of independent thinkers and enjoyers of pure existence wouldn’t be so eager to cooperate on such a grand scale
