Honestly and constantly surprised how many people are content to live in the matrix

Could it be that without people living in the matrix, succumbing to higher order bestowed to them through organized programming across the ages, we wouldn’t see level of cooperation and integration as we do now?

I’d imagine that society full of independent thinkers and enjoyers of pure existence wouldn’t be so eager to cooperate on such a grand scale
