yeah it’s a poor policy choice, same losing strategy as anti-crypto and anti-tech more broadly. not to mention the embarrassing double standard w/r/t energy/water usage, as though the entire internet doesn’t already run on an elaborate and energy intensive system of server farms.

Tbh I understand why some people are against AI in terms of it reducing creativity, causing centralisation, warfare etc. But “stop using AI” doesn’t make sense.

Is this guy important in some regard? I guess he must be somewhat since you’re using him as an example of the left and his PFP is him sitting on a panel or something But all that to say, even if the old fart liberals think “AI is bad,” doesn’t mean that’s actually a part of “the new progressive / left identity” Seems more likely young and or smart progressives / leftists embrace AI as a means to UBI and better (and shorter) working conditions
