My least favorite workouts before I do them are my most favorite workouts after I do them. In order of least favorite (aka most favorite) workouts: deadlifts, squats, pull-ups, and step-ups.
Whoop is such a helpful device, but it sucks at strength training. Creating and logging workouts manually is more painful than a hard workout. Notes app + ChatGPT is the best strength training tracker.
The attempt to break a record is more interesting to others than anything else you do. My close friends and new people I meet will gloss over the most interesting aspects of my life, homeschooling kids, trail running, and new company, and jump straight to asking how training is going. It’s not that interesting. I go to the gym daily and lift heavy ass weights, but because it’s different, people are curious.
