I’ve noticed with younger gen z they either avoid confrontation, or are way too aggressive and make things black and white. It’s up to us to provide guidance and help them correct course. Why do you think Gen z has this problem?

Probably cus we know this is how much we’re misunderstood and that millennials never want to believe we might know better sometimes?…

It’s called being young. In my experience, this disappears towards and through your 30s, and is reasonably smooth by the time you hit your mid-40s.

I just feel like most of them grew up in a generation that doesn’t generally have respect for each other or adults And they tend to always feel like being aggressive or directly fighting is the only solution Coupled with the fact that everything is basically programmed to make them act this way from the contents on TikTok down to Instagram and all that

I feel social media plays a huge role here, leaving little to no room for nuance

the older generation tend to take advantage of the gen Z so it just throws them to either side of the spectrum, either they just shut up and avoid it totally or they become aggressive even when unnecessary 😅

I feel the gap between the gen X and us,Gen z’s is a little too steep and maybe that’s a major factor that causes these “avoidance of confrontation(s)”. I’d say the genesis of the whole problem is premised majorly on the dynamic nature of things. Or what do you think Euler?

We grew up in a digital world where confrontation is either avoided or escalated quickly. Social media can polarize issues making them feel black and white, while also making face-to-face conflict harder to navigate. Think it’s mostly tech driving this, or more cultural factors too?

I think that growing up with social media as a major component of information supply, we saw algorithmic segregation into binary opinions, when most things are actually a spectrum. I also think that with the 1% rule (99% lurkers on the internet) most people are used to inaction in much of their screen time (which is a huge part of their days), so they get trained to avoid confrontation directly. Pandemic didn’t help social skills any either 🤷‍♂️
