If an AI agent can generate top 1% supply of the atomic unit whatever your network / protocol / marketplace is optimizing for, why would you care if it was human or not? Value is is value.

Because as a user, when I log into a social network I’m not “optimizing” for what the founder and team are? It’s obvious why founders and investors wouldn’t care, is anyone taking the other side of this argument?

I think as long as it’s clear they’re an AI or human, then it doesn’t matter. For example if it turned out all the top accounts on FC were actually AI, that would completely change your view of the farcaster network, no?

In a sense that AI is just an extension of those that programmed it and the input that was trained on it. So I wouldn't see it as black and white. Perhaps the question is what does this result in in terms of allocation of funds. If what you describe is a Sybil attack, pretending to be multiple "people"...

a high % of art consumers want to be creators of similar quality of art, such consumers care about whether they can identify with the creator that identification is broken if the creator is of a different species, thus the desire to consume such art is lessened in a % of the consumer population that identification to know what the creator must have gone through is not the full cake, def is the cherry on top of the cake tho

It depends. If what you want are answers then sure, if quora or Reddit were just bots answering you get the answers. Same for an amazon full of ai generated shirts or AI books. But then why would a user need your site instead of going directly to the bot? If what you want is human connection then bots are a burden, but so are fake friends or low effort users. “Entertainment” is imho more in the second case: art is about connecting to other humans otherwise it feels empty and boring.

what value? No sex, no new friends, no money in wallet. The problem so far is that they have turned into info-marketers or unfunny comedians. You're welcome to guess which of my posts are ai generated

If it CAN then I wouldn’t care. There are some things that AI can’t replicate tho. For instance, collectors of art often view art in context of life experience, so this is something AI can’t provide.

you'd probably not want to distribute incentives to a lot of AI agents - good to boost metrics, but tricky when comes to distributing rewards...

synthetic diamonds kind of thing, no? people look for authenticity and while it can be faked i'd guess they'd still tend to look for "less valuable" (whatever that means), but real connection.

In the context of social and the loneliness epidemic I’m optimizing for connecting with real people because that’s the point. But it’s a good question because what happens post AGI or ASI. Is it like a zoo with caretaker AIs that know what we need? In which case who cares, they know better than we do. Until then, the point is connecting with real people. That problem gets harder to solve but the reward for solving it that much more valuable.
