Varun and I were trying to rename RSS+ and Varun suggested Farcaster from the book Hyperion (like Palantir or Anduril from LoTR).

Goal is 1B DAU for the protocol. Going to be plenty of topics any one person is not interested in. Key is having client / algo diversity is to find your ideal FC experience.

How do you view an increase in DAU if it comes at the ‘cost’ of an increase in meme coins and some might argue a decrease in the quality of conversation/vibes?

I’m not super productive. Never have been.

My rough schedule is: 6-7am wake up with kids, out the door by 7:30, office until 5-5:30pm, kids / dinner until 7ish pm, less productive work after, sleep

Weekends more kid stuff, work during naps and occasionally 1/2 day because my wife is supportive and amazing

How do you structure your time between working on Farcaster and spending time with kids/family? What hacks have you used to remain super productive?

What is your weekday, weekend routine?

With family. But also working. The milestones don’t matter for more than 5 minutes pre-pmf.

how do you like to spend your days off after achieving substantial milestones

1. There are no departments — just engineering.

2. We have a high level six month goal, a more concrete set of 2 month goals, and then weekly planning (have been operating closer to daily planning more recently).

North Star is DAU, qDAU if you want to be specific which is DAU minus manually marked spammy users

pmf came up a few times in this thread. what are your yardsticks for measuring whether Farcaster is “there”?

what is Farcaster’s north star for growth? (e.g. active monthly users, unique user signups, etc)

Tax CPA, Startups, ISO, NSO, QSBS, Web3, Angel Investing

Work with a potential co-founder for 4+ years at the same high growth engineering heavy tech company. :)

If not an option, find someone technical you trust and have them do a technical interview. 

It’s a really challenging problem.
