This post made me think about the design of photo cameras. 
It's true that Leica cameras in particular have a retro feel. 
But why do cameras look the way they do? 
On the one hand, it is true that the design of the (Leica) camera dates back to the days of analog photography and many settings were made manually back then. 
But you also have to bear in mind that for many, especially professional photographers, the camera is purely a tool and not a design object, the motto here is that form follows function. Settings such as exposure time or aperture must be able to be adjusted within fractions of a second. Physical dials are unbeatable for this.

Recently picked up a Ricoh GR IIIx. The size is amazing.

Been trying to leave phone at home and bring the camera when taking the kids to the park. Will share some photos from it soon.

amazing to think the impact that finding this balance has in everything you do. and leaving the phone at home is powerful because it just eliminates from the root the mental chatter of checking it all the time

This is THE go to camera for street and loved by many streetogs around the world. Me being  Fuji user for 14 years, around 2016 they released a model Fuji XF10 to beat Ricoh GRII but wasn’t successful..I still have it and it’s my everyday camera

Nice choice going with the iiix. The longer lens would be my choice.

I had to have an EVF so I went with a rx100 V, but I used to have a GR and loved it.

I also recently got this camera, it's so small and yet the sensor is a monster. Still getting into a rhythm but it's a lot of fun

I just bought recently a GRIIIx HDF too, love it! I really enjoy taking photos with it! To me the image stabilizer rand the small size was very important, I can shoot at around 1600 iso at night, sometimes even lower so its not much noise in the photos wich I absolutely love since I love to take photos at night. This is one of my favorite photos so far taken with it:

Personally think this is one of the top 5 overall photo cameras on the market

Whenever I take the camera instead of the phone I take photos more intentional.

I have a Ricoh GR III and I wish I woulda gotten the IIIx. That said, my Sony RX100 VII is my fav camera. The software sucks as much as my Ricoh, but a 200mm lens in a pocketable camera is wild

Why did you choose this one?

I think yours may be a smidge young but I have an old DSLR that my kids LOVE to use 

It just has a cheap 50mm lens on it but they have so much fun running around snapping pictures 

I think it's the super loud shutter noise

Fixed 26mm lens? Hmm good, perfect for street photography. Would be interested to see the shots.
