Spent a while at Google reflecting on why some gigabrains totally miss the boat on crypto. Think it's often unconscious intellectual elitism bc they see the moonbois screaming "crypto!" and assume shoeshine boy indicator. Really it's a lazy heuristic assuming presence of noise = absence of signal.

It’s the usual problem with famous experts and thinkers. Just because they correctly captured the zeitgeist at one point in time, they must keep professing opinions on everything all the time to remain relevant, even when their expertise is outdated or unrelated.

With NN Taleb and Mike Green, I always just parse their statements with s/crypto/Bitcoin&ghost-chains/g and I end up agreeing with it. Also that they both tend to argue from first principles. This is not the same for Zehian who is closer to Ben McKenzie in terms of arguing based on vibes and narrative gestalt.

Smart people can be stupid. William Shockley was a eugenicist. Elon Musk is a conspiricist. Albert Einstein tended bees, but was allergic to bee stings. I think you can microwave a frozen chicken breast, raw, for ten minutes and eat it safely.
