i think warpcast is moving in a great direction! a thought: make it possible to open a composer action from a frame button frames are great for distribution, you can easily cast, recast, quote cast, and share them across clients composer actions are great for more complex applications bring them together 🤝

Feedback on channels: I keep running into friction when I make a cast, then decide where to cast it, and it's not in my channel list so I have to back out and check if I'm a member, I'm not, now I have to figure out how to join or go find another channel... Half-baked suggestion: Channel inbox for mods? Casts get sent there if you're not a member. Basically spam mempool that mods can accept a cast into the channel which also gives the sender membership.

I like the new channel changes. I think the reduction of noise has make them more interesting, which brings into the table when a channel hits it's maximus capacity in terms of members so it needs to be split into another channel (obviously up to channel owners). This probably will make sub-channels or sub culture groups more interesting as with any movement there are always minor details that are different and will enrich the culture around the channel.

When I remove a person from a channel, I don't necessarily want their casts to be removed as well. (In the case of /firstdraft it's just someone's subscription expiring, not that their posts are spam)

recent changes to Warpcast are exciting, still have some thoughts from conversations with friends. Mini-apps: The recent developments in mini-apps look promising, especially with the deep link feature that allows them to open directly in a frame. Some devs even have been working on mini-games for a couple of months. It might be beneficial to consider further enhancements, like adding minimization for easier reopening. I wonder if the team sees this as a worthwhile direction to pursue or prefer not to turn Warpcast into a super app. Past channel casts: Some hope that their past casts in channels they are no longer members of would still be visible and interactive on their WC profile page. actually these casts wouldn’t impact the current channel feed, but users might want to view, quote, or comment on them. DMs: Are there plans to standardize Warpcast's DM at the protocol level, or possibly by adopting existing protocols like XMTP? This could allow third-party clients to sync direct messages effectively.

finding the new channel updates point toward my opinion of the protocols current value prop: 0 to 1 networking for the next wave of internet entrepreneurs. curious to see how warpcast can also ingratiate in-app fulcrums for media, information, and comms layer that tend to be creator focused. i understand the immense value of dev leverage, do believe that for network/acc creator leverage is as valuable for scaling

is there a way to make it to not see people i don't follow in my home feed? around 1/4 - 1/3 of my home feed is people who i have no idea/interest in following now since the update. also, have yet to see a boosted cast that i actually wanted to see.

If a channel member gets ratioed on their post by a non member, they should be removed in exchange for that new member.

My home feed seems much better now — I’m seeing better quality casts. And I think after a couple weeks, the channel adjustment will settle. But I do have concerns about new folks coming in and how they get acclimated. How are you thinking about this?

I'm not happy with every decision regarding the channel updates, but I do appreciate: - Prioritizing Channels: Channels are the most interesting primitives on Warpcast/Farcaster, and I'm glad to see the team prioritizing getting them right. - Community Engagement: I appreciate the time given for the community to digest, prepare, and provide feedback on these changes. It shows leadership and respect for user opinions, even when dealing with a diverse set of needs. - Creating Meaningful Spaces: I love the move towards creating "meaningful spaces" rather than glorified hashtags. You wanted interesting content, and I think this is the right direction for creating net new kinds of content. I'm particularly excited about creator-focused channels (e.g., /cameron or /six), as you've now created something akin to text-based Twitch streams. Functional channels like /bounties also feel like more meaningful job boards. I foresee some really cool experimentation in this direction. Overall, great execution by the team.

I believe the main challenge that the application still faces is onboarding new users who are not familiar with crypto. Even in my case, when I usually invite people, I have to do it in person with them to guide them through the entire process. Especially to ensure they verify their wallet, which involves installing Metamask on their phone, and it usually integrates poorly with the Warpcast app. This is important because for many initiatives, without a verified account, it is not possible to start interacting. I believe that overcoming this challenge would really allow for a significant leap in adoption. Additionally, I think the app should somehow recognize and reward all the people who are putting in the effort to bring others into their groups. For a long time now, I have been trying to mobilize my audience to Warpcast from my social networks, and it takes a lot of time because it’s not easy at all.

critique on new upgrade: casts that users have made in the past on channels that are then removed from view on profiles on Warpcast post channels upgrade is a bit of a rug (esp for folks who don't use other clients + have put effort into casting quality top level cast content)

I had a suggestion for WC a few months ago which suddenly disappeared. Reposting for visibility: "Minor feature request: Every time I try to save an image here on Warpcast, the default file name is always set to "original" or "rectcontain3". I'd like to be able to save images without having to constantly rename them all the time (see X, Pinterest, etc)"
