google search traffic is not the best chart to look at. DAUs would be better. new posting activity even better. short text social is fragmenting and threads will be one of those fragments. it is far from Google+

This was expected. It will take time for the hype to settle and for a threads-specific use case to develop. Threads does not have a public API yet which is a pretty big factor, imho.
