Spent the last 3 weeks traveling, so I got back into the gym yesterday. What's your strategy for lifting weights again after taking time off? I go back into my normal routine but lift much lighter so I'm not as sore the following days. Wonder if there's anything else I can do to optimize.

Best mental strategy is to completely eliminate pride. 3 weeks off isn't so bad but give yourself the same time without self-judgement. Goal is to stay injury free

Try same (or just slightly lighter weight) and do lesser reps. You’ll be surprised how much strength you retain.

I've heard that keeping the intensity (weight) where it was, but dropping reps/sets lower is a good way to ease back into your normal workout
