With Google Domains shutting down, where else are people hosting their domains? Used Namecheap and Godaddy before but both are bad. Vercel?

WordPress has a limited-time offer that I have been using to register my domains https://wordpress.com/transfer-google-domains/

I have some domains on Google & others on porkbun.com — so I guess I’ll just transfer the others to there for the time being… Not exactly happy about them shutting down & selling to squarespace.

I buy with Namecheap then manage DNS with Vercel — Vercel makes it so easy and I have like 7 domains with my free Vercel account

I've used hover.com for years. It's pretty good.

I reluctantly still use godaddy. It works but I wouldn't recommend it. I would recommend cloudflare.

fwiw OG Derek Sivers just pointed everyone at Porkbun here https://sive.rs/ti#register Registered a tiny domain with them to try them out over the weekend and got a kick out of their sense of humor. Many good years with Dreamhost otherwise. Had given one domain to GDomains last year, just in time to bail now lol

Vercel's UX is very sleek, but they charge extra some of my domains are Vercel, some on hover dot com

I’ve used Gandi.net for a long time and it has been pretty good. Sometimes more expensive though.

I’ve used Pair Domains for 24 years… works well for me. Unfortunately my only domain at Google is also a Workspace domain so I can’t be bothered to try moving it and figuring out a all the custom DNS I need to set. Too afraid to mess up my custom Gmail, hosting, etc.

Route 53 AWS Can’t justify any reason why except I feel confident they aren’t pulling the plug on me. I also own less than 5 so really not a frequent user

I use enom and Namecheap predominantly. Usually pointing to cloudflare or route53 dns.
